Overwatch News

Overwatch's first new post-launch hero has officially been revealed.

As Blizzard's teasers from earlier this month hinted at, Ana Amari, a founding member of Overwatch and Pharah's mother, is a support sniper who uses a Biotic Rifle to both heal teammates and deal ongoing damage to enemies from long distances. Her secondary weapon, a Sleep Dart, knocks enemies unconscious.

She can also fire a Biotic Grenade, an area of effect ability that works similarly to Soldier: 76's Biotic Field, but both heals teammates and damages enemies within range.

Ana's Biotic Grenade has the additional effect of boosting incoming heals for allies affected by it and temporarily disabling enemies from being healed for "a few moments," though how long has not yet been specified.

Finally, Ana's ultimate ability — Nano Boost — increases the movement speed, damage output, and enemy attack resistance of her teammates.

Ana isn't available in Overwatch just yet, but she will most likely be added for free by the end of July. She will be the 22nd playable hero in Overwatch, and the fifth support hero next to Lúcio, Mercy, Symmetra, and Zenyatta.

You can find several screenshots of Ana, as well as some concept art, below.
