After the big reveal

The game’s got tanks, biplanes, horses. Bayonets. Flamethrowers. There’s 64-person multiplayer as well as a single-player campaign. The campaign will go to Arabia, Italy, and France, among other areas.

EA appears to be partnering with Microsoft for this marketing push; for the reveal event, all of the posters were plastered with “Xbox One” and they specifically announced that the game will be playable “first” on EA Access on PC and Xbox.

EA also announced an “Early Enlister Deluxe Edition,” on sale for $80, that will be out three days early, on October 18.

World War I (WWI or WW1), also known as the First World War, or the Great War, was a global war originating in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. More than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilised in one of the largest wars in history. Over 9 million combatants and 7 million civilians died as a result of the war (including the victims of a number of genocides), a casualty rate exacerbated by the belligerents’ technological and industrial sophistication, and the tactical stalemate caused by trench warfare, a grueling form of warfare in which the defender held the advantage. It was one of the deadliest conflicts in history, and paved the way for major political changes, including revolutions in many of the nations involved

The war drew in all the world’s economic great powers, assembled in two opposing alliances: the Allies (based on the Triple Entente of the United Kingdom/British Empire, France and the Russian Empire) versus the Central Powers of Germany and Austria-Hungary. Although Italy was a member of the Triple Alliance alongside Germany and Austria-Hungary, it did not join the Central Powers, as Austria-Hungary had taken the offensive, against the terms of the alliance. These alliances were reorganised and expanded as more nations entered the war: Italy, Japan and the United States joined the Allies, while the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria joined the Central Powers.

The trigger for the war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, by Yugoslav nationalist Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo on 28 June 1914. This set off a diplomatic crisis when Austria-Hungary delivered an ultimatum to the Kingdom of Serbia,[10][11] and entangled international alliances formed over the previous decades were invoked. Within weeks, the major powers were at war and the conflict soon spread around the world.

No confirmation if all these weapons are included , but lets check wat was used in this brutal war!

World War I was the first major conflict involving the large-scale use of aircraft. Tethered observation balloons had already been employed in several wars, and would be used extensively for artillery spotting. Germany employed Zeppelins for reconnaissance over the North Sea and Baltic and also for strategic bombing raids over Britain and the Eastern Front.Aeroplanes were just coming into military use at the outset of the war. Initially, they were used mostly for reconnaissance. Pilots and engineers learned from experience, leading to the development of many specialized types, including fighters, bombers, and ground-attack aeroplanes.

Ace fighter pilots were portrayed as modern knights, and many became popular heroes. The war also saw the appointment of high-ranking officers to direct the belligerent nations’ air war effort. While the impact of aircraft on the course of war was mainly tactical rather than strategic, most important being direct cooperation with ground forces (especially ranging and correcting artillery fire) the first steps in the strategic roles of aircraft in future wars was also foreshadowed.

The development of tanks in World War I was a response to the stalemate that trench warfare had created on the Western Front. Although vehicles that incorporated the basic principles of the tank (armour, firepower, and all-terrain mobility) had been projected in the decade or so before the War, it was the heavy casualties sustained in the first few months of hostilities that stimulated development.

Research took place in both Great Britain and France, with Germany only belatedly following the Allies’ lead.
The Germans, on the other hand, began development only in response to the appearance of Allied tanks on the battlefield. Whilst the Allies manufactured several thousand tanks during the War, Germany deployed only 20 of her own.

Oh, and HORSES!

DICE revealed some additional details about Battlefield 1 Friday that represent a significant change from previous entries in the franchise. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC players will need to pick specific classes to control vehicles in the game this time around. There’s also one fan requested class change.

Battlefield 1 will contain four primary classes for players to choose from – Assault, Medic, Scout, and Support. You may have already noticed one change here already. The Assault and Medic classes are now separate instead of combined into a single class and the Engineer has been dropped.

The developer has added two additional classes to Battlefield 1 – a Tanker and a Pilot. DICE Senior Producer Aleks Grondal confirmed the new classes in an interview with Xbox On. He explained the primary weapon for each class is their respective vehicles while YouTuber JackFrags suggests players will spawn directly into their respective vehicle.
